Policy Priorities

As part of the AAPI Commission’s mission and its responsibilities under state statute, the AAPIC advises executive and legislative bodies on the potential effect of proposed legislation on the AAPI community. Currently, the AAPIC only endorses Massachusetts legislation, not federal legislation.

All endorsed bills complete the following process

(1) The Government Relations, Policy, and Civil Rights Subcommittee identifies, reviews, and recommends a bill.
(2) The bill advances to the full AAPIC for deliberation and public comment.
(3) The AAPIC takes a vote on whether or not to endorse the bill.
