Participate in Legislative Hearings

All residents of Massachusetts are welcome to participate in the legislative process by contacting their representatives and taking part in legislative committee hearings. Each committee hearing will cover certain bills, often centered around a common topic. During hearings, there are opportunities for people to speak and answer any questions members of the committee may have. Most committee hearings are now hybrid, plus all allow written testimony to be submitted either in addition or instead of verbal testimony. The key to providing effective testimony is to share why a bill is important to you, including personal stories. You can find all upcoming committee hearings here.

Contact your Elected Officials

You do not need to be a citizen in order to contact your elected officials to express your views or request resources.

There are countless ways to advocate for yourself. From participating in protests, to joining local organizations, or even just posting on social media, you deserve to have your voice heard. Even small actions can have large effects, especially when you work together with friends, family, and neighbors.
